New Motawi Tileworks in the shop
The talented team of artisans at Motawi Tileworks create stunning, historically-informed art tile for installations or as individual art pieces.
To create this "Cuenca" style tile, an artist etches the design into a blank mold. When clay is pressed into the mold, the etched lines become raised ridges.
After a bisque firing decorators use a bulb syringe to carefully pool glaze in all of the basins to color each tile.
