Chirp, Chirp, Spring is Coming!

Spring is just around the corner! Yes, it is. Though our winter weather has been considerably mild this year, we as Michiganders are always ready for spring, right?

Well, just to tempt you with fresh ideas and eye candy as we sit on the cusp of a fresh, new season, we take a look at the birds. Feeding the birds and building bird houses makes us think of being outside. Sooooo, visit the Dancing Eye Gallery to get a leap on new spring merchandise like, new scarves, new cards, new jewelry, Don't Mess with the Mitten t-shirts in pink!

Before you know it, Easter will be here! See you soon.

What Day is It?

Tuesday, October 25th is Sourest Day! Celebrate by being grumpy, crabby or just downright mad at the world. This guy above is. Or maybe he's just peeved that the Tigers aren't playing in the World Series.

But we at the Dancing Eye Gallery say: "Thank you Tigers! You did a great job."

We also have advice for you on Sourest Day: "OK, be sour for 1 day. After that, come in to the gallery and let us cheer you up! We have a lot of art to put that smile back on your face. Psssst -- the best thing to make you happy is to treat yourself. That's right, buy something for YOU! Guaranteed to banish the 'sours' and release your 'feel good' endorphins. (Not to mention, the consumption of extreme amounts of candy will do the trick too!) If you stop in on Saturday, you can kill those 2 birds with 1 stone."

Oooohhhhh....
Sccaaaarrrrryyyyy!

Yes MichiCAN Trunk Show - Nov. 6th

From Yes MichiCAN:
Looking for something to send a loved one living out of the state for the holidays? A shirt with a message about our state might be the
answer and will be a gift that will keep on giving back here in Michigan. Two local Northville women created a few slogans to help lift the spirits of Michiganders this summer and are using the messages to help unemployed workers. Don’t Mess with the Mitten and MichiCAN slogans are being sold on t-shirts in stores throughout the Metro Detroit area. “People walk by the t-shirts and stop and smirk and turn back around to take another look,” said Terri O’Brien. Lisa Burnia says people definitely react when they see the shirts. “People walk by and they know exactly what it means and get a smirk on their face and a look of pride comes over them. Everybody is proud to have grown up here and want to stay and raise their families here in Michigan.”

Burnia says the idea was not to just sell shirts, but to create a sense of pride. They are donating part of the money they make off the sales of the shirts to Schoolcraft Foundation, Gleaners Food Banks and Bridgepointe, three organizations that are helping unemployed workers.

New fall colors will be available at the trunk show on Friday, November 6th. We hope you'll join us during downtown Northville's First Friday.
