Travel Michigan Lately?

Beach Girl Photography by Jamie Hilliard is one of out newest artists at the Dancing Eye Gallery.

Jamie is a local photographer who supports traveling throughout Michigan. Her focus is Detroit, then and now, and the scenes of our beautiful state. Her photos will draw an "I remember that!" or an "Oh my gosh, that's beautiful!" response upon looking at them. They are mounted on her hand-crafted wooden blocks and can be hung on the wall.

Summer is coming to a close and if you didn't get a chance to take a trip throughout Michigan or down memory lane, a look at these photos will make you feel like you just returned!

Are You Ready for School?

Yes, kids and parents, that favorite time of year is fast approaching. No, not Christmas or  summer vacation, but The First Day of School!!!!

So we ask, "Are You Ready?"

Have you found that perfect pair of earrings or conversation-piece ring to go with that new favorite outfit? Did you get a Haney magnet board to post "To-Dos" or your shopping list or homework assignments? How about a scrabble necklace with your school logo on the front and your initial on the back? Verrryy cool!  Tote bag? Card for the new teacher? Apple???

The Dancing Eye Gallery has them all! Our door is open, the weather is gorgeous and the school clock is counting down. Tick, tock, tick, tock ... Don't be late or you might be sorry!

We're open Friday nights until 8, too.

Local artists Sarah and Thomas Gelsanliter of One Acre Ceramics hand carve intricate patterns on tiles. After bisque firing, glazes are applied giving a cloisonne-like effect to tiles, jars and candlesticks which can be found at the Dancing Eye Gallery. Come and see these beautiful pieces!

The Mincing Mockingbird

The Dancing Eye Gallery has just received new work by artist Matt Adrian of The Mincing Mockingbird. These avian portraits are delightfully cute and, at times, decidedly sinister. See a selection of his acrylic bird paintings here along with new greeting card arrivals from the same company, as well as their Frantic Meercat card line. You won't be disappointed!

Art is Everywhere

Newly arrived are frames for our Quotable cards! Now that perfect card you chose to give because it had just the right quote on the front can be framed and displayed, not discarded with other not-as-clever cards! The frame and card make a great hostess gift, friend gift or just an additional bonus.
And speaking of frames, our Main Street side of the Dancing Eye Gallery is host to a reproduction of Giovanni Paolo's Interior of St. Peter's, Rome compliments of the DIA's Inside/Out program. Familiarize yourself with all 6 works displayed around Northville this summer. Check out Free Day at the DIA on 9/23.
Remember, the Dancing Eye Gallery is open on Friday nights until 8 p.m.
